Client Background

Kielder Waterside Park is home to self-catering lodges surrounded by peaceful scenery and a large man-made reservoir.

Northumbrian Water constructed the reservoir in 1982 as a sustainable water source. Kielder Waterside is owned and maintained by Northumbrian Water as part of their promise to maintain the sustainability of the local area.

What UCS Renewables Did

UCS Renewables were invited by Northumbrian Water to tender for the installation of electric vehicle chargers at Kielder Waterside Park to service the demands of visitors and support sustainable transportation.

Northumbrian Water selected a car park based EVBOX charger with additional signage to indicate the charging points location and available parking bays.

Gateshead MSCP

Our Energy team worked with the provided drawings from McNally & Thompson to compile a suitable design to maximise the use of the available space and optimise solar generation. The installation was challenging as rising energy bills created a surge for solar installations increasing the strain of the supply chain and therefore reducing availability of required materials.
