Future Homes Standard

In June 2022, the ‘Future Homes Standard’ the first part of the new building regulations will come into effect, the full legislation will be implemented in 2025. 

The new standard ensures that new build homes across England are 75% – 80% more energy efficient than current homes. 

Key changes include:

  • Discontinued use of combi boilers
  • Lower temperature heating systems to aid the introduction of heat pumps
  • No new homes will be connected to the gas network as of 2025
