The Challenge

Installation of 32 x 250w panels to cover 60m2.

Using Renusol Configuration tool, and PV Sol software the building was modelled and the layout design to cover 60m squared, as required by consultant. Due to the height of the building, and the city centre location the ballast required was over 400 blocks, which sit in the console bin underneath the panels. As there are two CHP units on site, a separate G59 Relay was installed which connects the Baxi CHP units with our electrical works.

Greenbank, Hartlepool

UCS Renewables completed surveys of the building in addition to reviewing the provided energy efficiency report, to conclude that the roof was suitable for the installation of solar modules. A proposal was approved for SMEES funding for the installation of a 38kW array on a single flat roof.

Gateshead MSCP

Our Energy team worked with the provided drawings from McNally & Thompson to compile a suitable design to maximise the use of the available space and optimise solar generation. The installation was challenging as rising energy bills created a surge for solar installations increasing the strain of the supply chain and therefore reducing availability of required materials.
